Our customers are realizing Indigenous Equality, One Box, and One Product at a Time

About Us

Founder Mallory Yawnghwe grew up in Saddle Lake First Nation and she’s very proud of her community. But she’s also witnessed firsthand the economic barriers that Indigenous peoples face.

Since March 0f 2021, Mallory and her husband Kham have gone from shipping dozens of boxes from their basement to shipping over 60,000 packages world-wide.

They’ve worked with hundreds of Indigenous entrepreneurs, linking them with thousands of customers who are hungry for connection and care about reconciliation.

Their biggest job, and biggest challenge, is growing the Indigenous product supply chain. Even though they are still learning, they do their best to help their suppliers scale their own businesses. When they grow, Indigenous Box can grow. It’s a circular relationship.

Our Mission:

To drive profitable revenue into Indigenous economies by strengthening value chains, creating sales channels, expanding access to Indigenous-made products, and building business knowledge that sustains growth for future generations.

Our Vision

To create a world where Indigenous Peoples are seen as economic equals, valuable contributors and necessary partners.

Our Values

Shared abundance through reciprocity, transparency, fairness, humility, continuous learning, bold action, and collective strength.

Our Story

Indigenous Box started late one night, back in March of 2021. Just for a moment, my husband and I decided to ignore our usual self-limiting thoughts and dream HUGE. Whispering by lamp light, ever so quietly, so we didn't wake the kids, we wrote the mission statement for a different kind of company

We had this idea: what if we did business with an abundance mindset, where there was room for everyone? What if we worked with our suppliers to help them grow while we grow? Then we could all succeed together!

And just think of all the kids who would be watching and learning. We would bring Indigenous goods to market with love, good intentions, and great care, while helping Indigenous entrepreneurs grow.

We didn’t know anything about how to build a company but we told ourselves that everything is figureoutable and just started anyway.

And you know what? Our theory was right. Thanks to our amazing customers, we’ve served over 600 organizations and thousands of individuals across North America and beyond. You've made us Canada's go-to for social-impact gifting, and helped us move a lot of Indigenous goods!
